Client Testimonial – “Maria’s Story”
“Before coming to Trusting Konnections, I felt stuck. I had been in and out of detox for years, and my anxiety was so bad I could barely leave the house. I was afraid I’d never get my life back.”
Maria, a 36-year-old single mother, entered the 10-week IOP after completing a short-term residential program. She had been struggling with alcohol use and untreated PTSD from a past abusive relationship.
Through the IOP’s structured group therapy, trauma-informed support, and connection to medication management, Maria began to rebuild her confidence and stability.
“The staff never made me feel ashamed. They helped me understand my triggers, not just for drinking but for the panic attacks and emotional shutdowns. For the first time, I felt like someone saw the whole me—not just my addiction.”
Maria completed the full 10 weeks, attended all sessions consistently, and was connected to an outpatient therapist and peer support group post-discharge. She has now been sober for 6 months and is working part-time while pursuing a certification in peer counseling.
“This program gave me a second chance. I can be a present mom now. I have tools to cope—and I finally believe I deserve peace.”
